Century Chemical Works Sdn. Our Code of Conduct & ESG Policy, which is integrated into our supply chain, is well aligned with the ultimate goal of global expectations towards a better and sustainable future development with increased level of transparency and accountability. As our utmost trustful business partners and employees, it is our honor to invite you to work hand in hand with us to accomplish all principles outlined herein this Code of Conduct & ESG Policy.

SCOPE OF APPLICATION

  • This Code of Conduct & ESG Policy shall serve as a supplementary guideline in addition to all policies, SOP, agreements and guidelines adopted herein Century Chemical Works Sdn. Bhd. and it shall apply to all employees and external providers for services, products and processes of the company.

OBJECTIVE

  • This Code of Conduct & ESG Policy aims to enhance and improve the level of integrity along the supply chain of Century Chemical Works Sdn. Bhd. through increased transparency, good governance and sound systems and controls.

CODE OF CONDUCT & ESG POLICY


1. Environmental

  • Comply  with  all  applicable  national  environmental  related  acts &  regulations, standards, orders & guidelines.
  • Initiate actions towards reduction of GHG emission, carbon footprint and environmental pollution.
  • Uphold 5R concept, resource optimization and waste minimization.

2. Social – Human Rights and Labour Standards

  • Respect  and  uphold  the  basic  human  rights  of  all  workers  including  local,  contract, temporary and migrant workers.
  • Prohibit use of forced labour and child labour, human trafficking and slavery.
  • Ensure no restrictions on workers’ freedom of movement.
  • Prohibit  unlawful  deductions  from  any  part  of    wages  or  withholding  any  property, identification cards, passports or any other travelling documents of the workers.
  • Provide a safe and healthy working environment.
  • Provide workers with adequate protective equipment and tools that are needed for them to perform their routine works.
  • Ensure all employees are given in writing, in a language that they could understand, a description  of their duties, rate of pay, working hours, leaves, and other benefits of employment.
  • Uphold  the  principle  of  freedom  of  association.  Recognize  and  respect  the  right  of employees to form and join trade unions of their choice and to bargain collectively.
  • Ensure all workers are paid a wage equal to or exceeding the legal minimum wage and are protected and covered under an insurance scheme for work-related illness and injuries.
  • Ensure that working hours comply with and employees are compensated with a fair rate as being stipulated in the Employment Acts, and that workers have at least one rest day each week.
  • Zero tolerance for any type of harassment, intimidation or violence.
  • Ensure equal opportunities and no discrimination based on ethnic origin, caste, disability, sexual orientation, nationality, race, religion, gender identity, union membership, political affiliation or age.

3. Governance

  • Conduct business in an honest and ethical manner.
  • Maintain high level of transparency and accountability.
  • Committed to free trade and fair competition.
  • Prohibit any gifts or token of appreciation in monetary or physical form in exchange for benefits or business that may be construed as or associated with corruption, bribery or fraudulent practices.
  • Respect intellectual property rights including patents, trademarks, copyrights, publications of designs, research & development.
  • Respect  employee  privacy,  personal  and  corporate  data.  Uphold  data  security  and protection.
  • Prohibit from engaging in money laundering activities or socializing and associating with persons suspected of money laundering.
  • External provider for services, products and processes shall not enter into a financial or any other relationship with any employee of Century Chemical Works Sdn. Bhd. that could create an actual or potential conflict of interest. All such conflicts must be disclosed, corrected and make known to the management of the company.
